Its a reality we'll have to get used to and quite frankly it might pave the way for us to make something functional, may folks have done so with other vehicles.

There we're earlier reports that the C8 would be getting some active aero tech, which indicates that the venting could very well be functional. If not I would imagine there will be some aftermarket options to choose from.

Some car makers are offering an active rear wing as standard, so that might be something to factor in. The rest however should come at a premium.

We've seen the same mention of active aero in the new Porsche 992. The margins have become so close in premium sports cars that every automaker is looking for the slightest advantage.

It helps too that Lexus started to include it as a standard feature on the new LC and it should be on par with the C8 on price. The gap is closing in on what Chevy can do.

For anyone interested in seeing how Lexus did it...

The new LC500 is one of the nicest styled vehicles we've seen from Lexus imo, and I think its a lot of car for the money. This is one of the rare times that we are actually seeing diminished performance on the hybrid model however.

Yeah and often they used models like this to launch features that are ahead of the rest of the industry or just to barely keep up. So with respect to the new Corvette, situations like this are valuable. Chevy might have some reasons for not doing it however, one of them being to save weight.
