2020 C8 rendered as targa top

Although this has yet to be confirmed by Chevy, a new rendering has just appeared online, which gives a first glance at what a targa top model would look like. The production model wont have this C7 front fascia but I'll admit that it would be a great fit for the mid engine vet.

I would much rather that Chevy does this over the powered top that we've seem them filing patents for. No need to overcomplicate things and add unnecessary weight.

Looks really sharp from the side profile, and the smartest way for GM to go about offering a convertible for the C8. At least this rendering is much more true to Corvette that many of the previous ones that we've been seeing.

These renderings don't help the old school guys that wanted to see a Corvette with more muscular styling than this. Cadillac might be the last hope they have.

We can already tell from the test mules that this body style isn't what we will be getting in the production model. Its just an insight into what the platform looks like with a removable top.

Even more of a reason to keep the existing coupe version and this more super-car like version for the 8th generation.

On that note of what I mentioned earlier, how many of you would actually like to see 2 versions of the Corvette being sold?
Mind you, ever since the Corvette was introduced it was sold as the same style of vehicle we can buy at dealers today.
Rarely (haven't seen for myself) would some automaker jump ship after decades of building a successful vehicle a certain way. What to say Chevrolet won't have both?

I'm guessing that the C7 will be offered alongside the C8 for at least a year or so. Chevy has no way to gauge what interest will be like at launch and it will be heavily dependent on the specs and how GM chooses to price it. If its too much of a jump from the C7 people will be waiting on better incentives.

Releasing more Grand Sport Collector Edition's would be a great move but bad for any of the current 1,000 owners that will suffer deprecation they never expected.
