Reto C7 Corvette ?

An artist from Yasid Design, has designed a C7 with a very classic approach to it. The chrome bumper, crager/mach looking wheels, chrome window trim and mirrors, even the exhaust setup. I actually don't think it looks so bad...

What are your thoughts on it ?

Looks horrible like every other retro mix up. Regardless of how hard someone tries it just won't flow since its a mash up of smooth and hard lines, rarely does that ever come together well and surely this won't be the exception.

Plus why spend all that money to make this happen when you can buy a C7 and maybe have money left over to customize it.

Everything is just all sorts of wrong with that. I don't think it looks "so bad" I think it looks "real bad". You can buy a 69 Stingray in pretty good condition for like under $30k and it'll look leaps and bounds better than that lol.

No doubt.

The only thing retro I would want to see that consists of it working in something new, is a new Corvette running some retro color scheme or paying homage in some way to a previous Corvette or something in Chevy's past. That's the only way retro can work and actually have people put money down on something.

They tried doing that with the Yenko C7... I think the paint scheme was a fail. They tried running the old Yenko Camaro paint scheme on it and I don't think it turned out proper at all.

I wouldn't say it was a complete fail. It personally doesn't suit my preference but it does work. It demands attention as well and plays the part of where they were heading with it. Plus it has 800hp... are you really going to complain about a few stripes?

I have to agree with LSx, the Yenko theme was minimal which takes away from most worries about how it changes the vehicles looks. Then on the boarder scheme of things with how big the Corvette market is and what alternatives there are with other Corvette trims, no one is complaining. You can always wait for the ZR1

The ZR1 is definitely what I'm on the waiting list for. I can't see a point in spending the money on these new trim C7s when in a "short" period of time, we have a mid-engined beast coming out to play.

The price difference may be the point. Difference in price between a Yenko and a base model C8 could change peoples perspective. It's really what's going to provide best value for you.

Not only that but we also have to consider production numbers and availability. I don't know too many guys with the patience to wait for the Yenko, especially with how tuneable the Corvette is. Few have a soft spot for the Yenko packages.

On another note, after seeing the Camaro GT4.R, it has me thinking that Chevy could have something more in store for the Corvette...
