5.9L Straight 6 TurboDiesel?

This isn't something you see everyday.

Someone took a 68' Corvette and took out the big block v8 and swapped in a 6BT Cummins.

5.9L Straight Six TurboDiesel. If that wasn't crazy enough, see what it's pulling on the 1/4.

11.88 @ 129mph

That seems like an unnecessarily powerful build. Were the specs released or do we only have the drag time?

Tried looking up specs for it but couldn't come up with anything as all the links were messed up unfortunately. I can imagine it displacing somewhere in the 650-750hp range though.

Lol anything that's at the drag strip is definitely going to be "unnecessarily powerful", but that's what the game is all about!

You can never have too much power at the track. But something like that would still be daily drivable completely. He doesn't hit peak boost until past the 60ft. it seems.

Good lord, I just checked up how much that 6BT makes stock, and it's only 165hp. So the amount of work it took them to land that thing in the 11s is insanity! The motors are cheap though which is probably why he went this route over any LS swap. It was probably a junkyard engine.

Its only too much power when you can't handle it and there's a lot of that happening, even on a 100% stock level. People get too caught up in crunching power numbers instead of perfecting the power and performance already in their hands.

Mustang drivers... that is true.

People get overconfident, or just don't want to admit that it's too much for them so they get in there and either end up hurting themselves, or a combination with other people. Hate seeing that stuff.

We've already seen this happen when the Hellcats came out, people were smashing them pretty darn quickly. But too much power is subjective to who's going to be using it. Can't throw someone that's only driven a Civic into an 500hp car or heck even a 350hp car and let him go to town right away

This could warrant car makers creating power modes that let people level up the power levels instead of going all out right away but at the same time that won't stop anyone with ambitions to really push it. Just comes down to how smart and knowledgeable someone is about what they do.
