C7 ZR1 at Laguna Seca (VIDEO)

This thing sounds absolutely insane. A true, deep, huge, Chevy engine. Dear lord I can't wait to hear what the LT5 is going to sound like.

Do you hear how different the Camaro sounded? Either way, loved em' both but that C7 sounds deadly!

I heard Laguna has a noise restriction now, so that may not be what the final ZR1 will sound like.

Really? Hmm... now that sounds interesting. It sounds like this will be another one of those cars that, from factory, is close to breaking the legal db level in your area haha.

Well what would help is having different driving modes as that might tie in how the exhaust is configured, just have a look at other vehicles in the segment and you see that happening.

But with testing, there's so may different levels of testing that play into it all, so it depends on their reasons for testing here compared to others.

Could just be a sport mode that cuts down the sound of the exhaust, an electronic valve/cutout for example. But that's true as well, they could be testing a number of things and not just speed/ring time here. Could be suspension rebounds or steering input, etc.

Some photos have surfaced of a drop top model C7 ZR1. Wonder what the production numbers are going to look like for the different models

I will be very surprised if they offer just as many convertibles as there are coupes since this is not a model that will attract a lot of vert buyers. Instead the lower trims are for that. And lets not forget.... this is a ZR1!

I agree. If I were to have a vert version of one of those, I would immediately be investing in braces all over and even at that, with the abuse I'd put it through, I'd be worried about that top going up straight again haha

Here's a new video of the 2018 Corvette C7 ZR1 at the Nordschleife. Not that first time it haws taken on the ring, but this footage is pretty good and so is the sound.
