Now this video isn't about the C8, but its just too cool not to share. The tracking shots that we're able to be done with this high speed drone are absolutely incredible and I would imagine this is the way that motorsports will head in the future. Check out Matt Field giving his vet the beans.

I don't know what's more impressive. The drifting down the mountain or the incredible drone work. This is definitely the future of camera work for the auto industry, and imo its much more immersive.

You can buy like $2,000 drones even at BestBuy, and I think some of them have like a 2km range. There are even professional racing leagues for them now.

Are there really? Guess I shouldn't be all that surprised since there are professional video game leagues. Can't imagine making a living doing something like that. I think there was also a build series for this vette and I'm going see if I can find it.

The entertainment industry is certainly shifting and we are seeing even in motorsports, more and more pure electric divisions. Until they are able to do a full race in a single car, I think it may be difficult to draw in many viewers.

There is something missing to Formula E, and I'm not sure if its just absence of the sounds of the cars. I don't think they've been able to pull in many viewers from the seasons they've had so far, but even Jaguar is releasing their own electric racing series with the new I-Pace eTrophy.

I think there are going to be a lot of new unique series such as these that will come and go. But to me this is more of a marketing play from Jaguar for their new electric SUV, than an actual professional league.

Legitimacy for electric racing leagues will grow over time, especially once they can develop vehicles capable of running an entire race. Wouldn't be all that difficult to place some simulated exhaust notes, if they thought that would make it more entertaining to watch.

Keep in mind that noise restrictions have really limited motorsport events in the past, and transitioning towards electric race cars would solve that. And with electric propulsion these cars would have ever better acceleration in and out of corners.

I like how its been playing out with hypercars that have been around for a while, even the McLaren P1 has enough all-electric miles for the city to deal with future regulations.
