It's going to be down to number crunching, how much can they profit off of manual drivers vs automatic and can they cover the manual transmission R&D costs with sales.

Let's hope so.. There's still a fair amount of time anyhow, so we can't really tell for sure what will be set for production at this point.

Motor authority has a larger poll on their twitter feed and most ppl really want a manual transmission.

That's not just most.. that's vast majority ! Think it'll make a difference to what the ultimate decision is ?

Chevy will look at it but the financial numbers will be the final deciding factor. Not everyone from that poll will get a C8.

Truth is, manual transmissions are slowly going extinct and the manual drivers in America may be outnumbered by automatic drivers. If push comes to shove, automakers will probably aim for the larger group of potential buyers.

Not probably.. they will.

Financial numbers are obviously the only numbers that matter, pretty much because of that reason given. They can run a much larger sample size for a poll but how many of them are actually going to buy one.

As the time goes on and statistics show majority of the cars on the roads are automatics, the demand for the manual transmission will drop.

On the other hand, demand for older corvettes with manual transmissions will rise because chevy is no longer making them. good news for anyone who currently owns one.

Time to go buy one of em' C4s. Heard those prices were going to be on the rise soon enough considering their age and it's real hard to find a nice, clean one. Wouldn't be such a bad idea come to think of it lol.

Motor Authority had a poll about this on Twitter and 68% of voters said it should be offered with a manual transmission.

21% said no
8% don't care
3% asked what a C8 corvette was

Maybe Chevrolet will reveal more info at the Detroit auto show next year.
