Looking At It All Wrong ?

From what I've been seeing and reading, these spy shots that we have of the "2018 Corvette ZR1 C8" are actually of the upcoming 2017 C7 Corvette ZR1.

From what we've been seeing, it's following the C7 body style exactly with very minor differences other than being more aggressive and having a massive wing on it. Doesn't seem like this is the C8 at all.

Am I just crazy or could this be what's going on ?

Now I'm so confused! the publications claim that those are C8 spy shots but if it's centered on a new mid-engine platform then the body shouldn't look almost exactly like the C7.

Exactly ! I still see that hood hump and everything which shouldn't be there in this scenario if it were mid engined. This is all so confusing and stressful. This keeps me up at night lol !

I've been living a lie... But yea, This definitely should be the C7.. How can all the dimensions be the same and have the engine moved. They would change it up somehow

It's simple, they are ending the C7 with a bang and ending it with a high performance trim is the way to go till the next generation C8 is ready. It's almost how most car makers play it out, very natural for Chevy to do the same.

So the C8 spy shots with the wing we've been seeing is instead the C7. That means we won't be seeing camouflaged c8 until the updated C7 goes into production?

That's pretty much it. It's gonna be a good amount of time before we see C8 spy shots

We were so excited about seeing the spy shots too... At least we have that rendering from Katech before they took down the C8 page.

Fortunately that time of the year is coming where real information right form the source picks up pace, maybe we'll see a teaser from Chevy.
