GM Filing LT5 Trademark

GM is filing a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the use of the “LT5” name in engines. This filing was made on September 19, 2016.

The C8 Corvette getting an LT5 engine seems more and more likely.

It's kind of one of those things that just go hand in hand. New Corvette ZR1 + LT5 = Bringing back something that will actually make it this time for production.

This is going to be a lot of fun, Lingenfelter is going to jump onto the C8 like crazy once its out, hopefully they and other tuners get the vette a bit early or have something to work off of in order to bring something to market in good timing.

Lingenfelter, Callaway, etc. This is definitely going to create an impact when it lands !

Can't wait to see someone come up with a twin-turbo precision 88mm setup. It's bound to happen.

Start with nitrous, switch over to procharger, then go twins.

Chevrolet doesn't have much else going on for themselves in terms of performance so this is the one shot they'll want to use to really elevate the Corvette brand and Chevrolet as a whole.

Too bad there's no hint of that happening, we have a while out to go before anything comes to light.

I mean... Chevrolet has been doing a pretty darn great job with the Corvette so far. This is just taking to the next level. In terms of performance that is. Its forever going through updates and bumps up in power and now they're taking a whole new route to it.

@Lugnut

Wowie, thought they would have done that years ago.

I might check on copywriting LT6, lol.
